Frequently Asked Questions

What are HMT hot melt hoses used for?

HMT hoses carry melted adhesive from the melter tank to the applicator or gun. Each hose is heated and insulated to keep adhesive at application temperature along its full length. RTD models include a temperature sensor that allows the system to hold the hose at its set point, helping prevent clogging, stringing, and inconsistent beads.

Are your hoses made by Hot Melt Technologies?

No. Zentz Industrial is an independent company that manufactures replacement hoses designed to fit and function with Hot Melt Technologies equipment. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by Hot Melt Technologies.

Will your hoses fit my Hot Melt Technologies equipment?

Our HMT replacement hoses are drop-in replacements built to OEM specs and tolerances. To find the right one, start with the OEM part number on your existing hose or in your equipment manual, then match it to the OEM reference number listed on each product. If you’re unsure, contact our team, and we’ll review your OEM part number and confirm the fit.

What lengths, voltages, and hose types are available?

Our Hot Melt Technologies hoses run from 2 ft to 25 ft. The inventory includes 120VAC RTD hoses (with W/Air versions), 120VAC capillary hoses from 4 ft to 16 ft, 120VAC NS hoses with High Temp versions, and #6 hoses in 120V and 220V. For other lengths or configurations, a custom hose may be the better solution.

What if I can't find the exact HMT hose I need?

Send us your OEM part number and our team will check availability. If we don’t stock the hose you need, we can manufacture a custom assembly tailored to your service conditions, and most custom parts have a lead time of 4 weeks or less. We can also adjust our production schedule to expedite the production of non-stock items.

Should I keep a spare HMT-compatible hose in stock?

A hose that fails mid-run stops production until it’s replaced. Keeping a spare in stock lets your maintenance team swap it out quickly and reduce downtime costs. Our team can help you decide which hoses are worth stocking for your system.

Is there a minimum order requirement for your hot melt replacement hoses?

No. Zentz has no minimum order quantity, giving you the flexibility to order a single hose or a full set of spares. Buy what your system needs, when it needs it, and keep costs down without overstocking parts you won’t use.

What causes clogging in a hot melt hose?

Clogging usually starts when adhesive cools, chars, or picks up contamination before it reaches the applicator. Sediment from degraded adhesive in the melter tank can travel into the hose and get trapped. Temperature loss along the hose can also thicken adhesive until it restricts flow. Keeping the tank clean, replacing filters on schedule, and using RTD hoses that hold their set point all help keep adhesive moving. If clogging traces back to another part of your setup, Zentz supports the full system, including filters and pumps.

How can I extend the service life of my Zentz hoses?

Route hoses with gentle bends to prevent kinking, and support them so their weight doesn’t stress the fittings. Don’t twist a hose during installation, and keep it clear of moving equipment. Check the jacket and connections as part of routine maintenance so small issues get caught before they stop production.

Is there a warranty on your HMT-compatible hoses?

Yes. All of our parts come with a 6-month warranty from the date of customer receipt. Contact us with any warranty questions.

Is it safe to replace a hot melt hose myself?

Yes, as long as you follow your equipment manufacturer’s procedures. Shut off and lock out power, and relieve system pressure so no adhesive is trapped in the line. Let the hose cool, or wear heat-resistant PPE, before you disconnect it. Then, before you connect the new hose, inspect the fittings and seals at the melter and applicator, including any O-rings. Worn seals can leak even when the hose itself is new. Confirm the hose matches your system’s voltage and sensor type (RTD or capillary). Then bring it up to temperature for testing and check the readings before returning to full production. If you’re unsure about any step, our team can walk you through it.
